What is hydraulic cylinder tube

hydraulic cylinder tube is a kind of precision steel tube, but can be classified as H9 DOM tubings and H8 CDS tubes.

In our plant, we mainly manufacture cold drawn (and honed or skived&roller burnished) seamless tubes.

Some manufactures use hot rolled seamless pipes as raw material and put it to deep hole boring and honing or skiving&roller burnishing. Deep hole boring is applied to ensure the unique ID for further honing or SRB. While the other manufacturers use cold drawn tubes as raw material and put it to honing or skiving&roller burnishing directly.

The difference between hot rolled and cold drawn cylinder tubes are as follows:

1. Cold drawn tubes have better size tolerance and surface condition. Hot rolled pipes are delivered in condition of as rolled, and the OD tolerance and external surface are not as good as cold drawn tubes. That is why many manufacturers do external machining to hot rolled pipes.

2. Cold drawn tubes have better performance on mechanical properties. Cold drawn cylinder tubes are always delivered in condition of stress relieved annealing. In this case, cold drawn tubes have higher tensile strength and yield strength than hot rolled pipes.
